| The Los Angeles Chapter, a non-profit organization and member of the national American Culinary Federation, is comprised of members of all aspects of the kitchen. Our membership profiles range from students to educators, from local vendors to executive chefs, from novice to seasoned professionals, from apprentice to mentors, we cover the spectrum in culinary positions and techniques. We take great pride in our place in the culinary world and our work in our community. We are the oldest and largest chef organization in America. We have seen many chef organizations quickly formed to "promote chefs". Yes, like any for profit venture these for profit organizations may use low membership fees or no fees to hook you in and big promises to attract members and pump sponsors. They may be successful for time. We have also seen what can happen to many for profit ventures, after the "Founders/Partners" have achieved there financial goals, they can retire in style. Of course, we have nothing against capitalism in fact we have seminars and information to help you grow your business today, we know that is important for you and hard work should pay off, but large profits are not our chapters goal. We have been around for a long time because we are focused on education and development of our members at all times and at all stages of there careers, not our boards shareholders or partners profit numbers for the quarter. We know what is important, and we will be here for the next generation of chefs and the next and yes, we do feel good about that! |
